Grilled Cheese Sandwich

This Pita grilled cheese takes comfort food up a notch—Buttery Pita stuffed with smoky hickory-cheddar, tangy feta and aromatic za’atar for a flavor bomb in every bite. Recipe by Edieoeats.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 Atoria's Family Bakery Traditional Pita, cut in half
  • 2 oz smoked hickory cheddar cheese or muenster cheese, sliced or shredded
  • 1/4 cup crumbled feta cheese
  • 1 tsp za'atar spice
  • Butter, softened

DIRECTIONS

  1. Preheat a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Generously butter one side of a slice of the Pita.
  3. Place the Pita butter-side-down onto the skillet bottom.
  4. Add the sliced or shredded cheese, ensuring it doesn't get too close to the edges.
  5. Sprinkle the za'atar spice and crumbled feta cheese on top of the cheese.
  6. Butter the other half of the Pita on one side.
  7. Place the buttered side up on top of the sandwich.
  8. Grill until lightly browned, flip the sandwich over, and continue grilling until the cheese is melted. Serve hot and enjoy!
